Let us rise together
like the sun at dawn,
bright and determined,
life-giving and strong.
Let us shine together
like stars above the sea,
drops in the ocean,
wild and free.
Let us stand together,
hand in hand,
weaving a web of magic
all across the land.

I wrote this chant for the „Rise“ prompt in May’s #30DaysofGoddess. I recorded it first alone–that first rendition is attached below, you can hear me working it out as I experiment with it. The version attached above is recorded with a few friends during our tiny Willendorf Circle last week (the final one in this series, we’re moving on to Spiral Dance next).

Every time I share a song/chant, I feel like I offer the same disclaimer about how I know I’m not a good singer, etc., so I’m not going to say that this time–just offer the idea that you don’t have to be great at something to write something new, sing it, and invite other people to sing it with you too! 🙂 There is joy in the act of creation–not everything must be a masterpiece. All that said, I very much like this chant and I look forward to singing it with a larger group at our June event!
